Payment Arrangements

If you are not able to pay your bill, a short term arrangement may be set up.

  • $50 or 10% of your total bill (whatever is more) is due with guaranteed funds when signing an arrangement

If an arrangement is broken, you will not be allowed to set-up another for 12 months.

Collections

After the payment due date, collection notices are sent and disconnects for non-payment are made. Once service has been disconnected for non-pay, extra fees are charged for reconnecting.

If you are unable to pay your bill in a timely manner, please contact our office before the due date, and ask for an arrangement.

Deposits

When applying for electric service, a credit check will be ran. Based on your credit rating, a deposit may be charged. The deposit will be as much as $400 depending on ownership or rental status.

The billing system automatically returns deposits back to a members account as a bill credit, once they have met our criteria:

  • Member is current 10 out of 12 months or;
  • They pay on time for 11 consecutive months

  • Bills are mailed in 2 cycles and due the 5th, or the 15th, depending on your location
  • All bills are due monthly
  • Return envelopes are provided with your bill for you to mail in your payment

Cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express payments are accepted

Simply login to SmartHub. You can pay online directly using your credit/debit card, or checking/savings account. Also sign up for automatic, recurring payments within SmartHub.

A drop box for BCREMC payments is located on the far right lane of the drive-through.

Mail your payment with your remittance to our lock-box service (in Indianapolis) located on your bill remittance.

You may also mail your payment to PO Box 467, Columbus, IN 47202

Please allow time for payment to be received before the due date to avoid a late fee.
