- While lightning is dramatic in effect, it is by no means the major cause of power surges

Protect your whole house with meter base surge protection. Bartholomew County REMC will install a surge protector on your meter or meter base to protect your home from power surges.
Pricing & Warranty
- The price is $125 plus tax and a $45 trip charge for installation
- The surge protector that is installed offers a $5,000 per item, $50,000 per failure replacement warranty
- The surge protector is protected for 10 years from the date of installation

**Electronic devices are covered by the service entry device if that is where the surge comes into the home. However, surges can come through other paths such as phone lines and cable connections. If the surge comes through the meter base unit, electronics will be covered. If the surge comes in through other means such as through phone or cable, then the electronics are vulnerable.
