When building a new home, install a new energy efficient electric water heater, and Bartholomew County REMC will furnish one 40- or 50-gallon A.O. Smith water heater or reimburse you $250.

Change your present fossil fuel (gas or fuel oil) water heater to a new electric energy efficient-model, and we will furnish a 40- or 50-gallon A.O. Smith water heater or reimburse you $250.

Please note: Maximum size offered above is 50 gallon. For larger sizes, consumer must pay the additional costs.

Specifications for new water heaters installed under this program:

• Must install a 40-gallon or larger.
• Must have foam insulation with at least a .90 energy rating.
• Must have dual elements (max. 5,500 watts).
• Must have temperature and pressure relief valve installed.

Requirements to qualify for this program:

• New water heater must be installed in Bartholomew County REMC service area.
• Must show proof of sale, model and serial numbers, size, make and energy rating.
• Rebates and incentives are not available on Touchstone Energy Homes.

*REMC personnel retain the option to verify installation.
